Abstract

Variational Translation Theory originates from translation studies and possesses a mature toolkit for text analysis. It demonstrates conceptual feasibility and practical potential for application in sociolinguistics` research on variations. By utilizing such toolkit, researchers can more comprehensively exhaust variations occurring in specific linguistic units of their study subjects. From a theoretical perspective, this contributes to a more thorough and profound understanding of the underlying mechanisms of language evolution. From an applied perspective, it enhances the practical significance of research outcomes, particularly in the field of SFL didactics.
